Chapter 16

Lynn awoke the next morning with a smile on her face when she felt the strong arms that clung to her body. Sleeping with Alexis had not been easy, considering they had both been tempted to do much more than sleep. Being so close to the woman that had danced in her thoughts 24/7 made Lynn’s heart race like a speeding car. She nuzzled Alexis’s ear with her nose before sucking the tender flesh into her lips with a giggle.

“Mm,” Alexis groaned. Her blue eyes fluttered and she smiled. “I could get used to that wake-up call.”

“So could I.” Lynn’s fingertips trailed down the bridge of Alexis’s nose with a smile. “Can I tell you a secret? I’ve never technically slept with a woman before. I mean like this, sleeping. Anytime I’ve ever woke up with someone it was because we had…” She blushed as her fingertips slowly made a path to Alexis’s chest.

“Way to kill the mood,” Alexis’s eyes narrowed.

“I…I just meant…” Lynn sighed. “I’ve only ever wanted a woman for sex. You…Well, I won’t lie. I want to rip your clothes off right now, but I won’t do that. Not yet anyways,” she added with a teasing grin. “I want you for so much more. You’re special and…”

The bedroom door burst open and Calista emerged, rubbing the sleep from her eyes, and dragging her tattered ragdoll. “Lynn!” Calista squealed and bounced onto the king-sized bed with Alexis and Lynn. Her arms wrapped around Lynn’s neck.

“Hey there, kiddo,” Lynn smiled. She hugged Calista tight, kissing the little girl’s cheek. “I’ve missed you.” She held Calista’s hands when the child plopped her butt onto the bed and crossed her legs in Indian style. “Let me look at you. Oh my, you’ve gotten so big!”

“I haven’t.” Calista giggled. She tilted her head and looked at her mother. “Mommy, why didn’t you tell me Lynn was coming over? I could have stayed up late.”

“Because, sweetie, Mommy didn’t know that Lynn was coming over.” Alexis brushed the curls from her daughter’s face as she flashed Lynn a loving gaze. “But we’re glad she’s here, aren’t we?”

“Yes!” Calista hugged Alexis and then crawled into Lynn’s lap. “I told Mommy not to cry and that you would come back.” Her arms wrapped around Lynn as she smiled.

Lynn swallowed, meeting Alexis’s gaze with a smile. “I’m sorry,” she mouthed silently to Alexis.

“Don’t worry about it,” Alexis whispered as she kissed Lynn’s cheek. “Do you want to go out and grab a bite to eat? Usually I stop by McDonalds in the mornings since I don’t have time to cook during the week.”

“I don’t know if I should. I don’t have my disguise.” Lynn wrinkled her nose. When Alexis’s eyes narrowed, she smiled. “When I go out I usually have to wear a disguise in public places like that. The day I took Calista shopping I wore a black wig.”

“Oh,” Alexis grinned. “I bet that was really becoming on you.”

“Do I detect a hint of sarcasm in your tone?” Lynn giggled when she felt Calista’s fingers toying with the bracelet she wore.
